New Harvest - limited batch

Single Origin matcha is exceptional because it has strong, unmasked characteristics, delivering a consistent yet distinctive flavor. Unlike last year’s harvest, this year’s matcha was ground shortly after harvesting, which is why its profile is noticeably fresher, greener, and more vegetal. This is a natural difference resulting from the character of a particular harvest and the timing of the tencha milling.

This is precisely what makes single cultivar matcha so fascinating - it is not a product that remains completely identical from year to year. Each season can reveal a slightly different side of the same cultivar.

Grown on just 3% of Japan’s tea fields, Okumidori is a rare cultivar known for its depth and elegance. JAS-certified organic, it is cultivated with care, purity, and intention.

DETAILS

Originating from the Sōraku district in Kyoto Prefecture, our matcha is both single origin and single cultivar-harvested from one region, one variety, and one crop. The shading process before harvest increases chlorophyll content, giving the matcha its intense green color and richness in antioxidants, minerals, and vitamins.

The sensory palette of single origin matcha is like a solo actor on an empty stage. There is an elegant mastery in presenting a refined, complex flavor from a single place. It celebrates the pure flavor profile that nature offers in its most original form, serving as a testament to the artistry and dedication behind every leaf.
